Pass quickly and accurately under time pressure.
Catching already ready to pass. The don't-hold-it pressure collapses the youth habit of catch, look around, then think — hands and feet learn to receive and release in one motion, which is what quick ball movement actually is.
In games: Quick ball movement is how young teams beat pressure defence — a team that moves it in one touch makes a press look silly instead of terrifying.
U8: one ball, a wide circle, and plenty of drops. U12: expect two balls travelling in opposite directions with barely a pause on any catch.
1–2 balls
Players in a circle, one or two balls.
The 'don't get caught holding it' pressure makes quick, clean passing exciting.
Two balls going opposite directions.
Widen the circle and allow one bounce pass to each neighbour.
Add a player in the middle who tries to deflect the ball; whoever loses it swaps in.
